Salsa dancing is one of the most popular social dances! At Jersey City Ballroom we teach Salsa on1 (LA Style) & Salsa on2 (NY Style). In our group salsa classes and private salsa dance lessons, we teach step patterns that you dance with a partner and solo shines designed to impress!

FUNdamentals of Salsa & Bachata - Beg/Int1 Level

Check out Bachata and Salsa dancing in our FUNdamentals class with our Salsa Specialists Paz and Ron. New students please arrive 10 minutes early to complete paperwork. No partner required! Please check the MindBody Online schedule in case of changes due to dance competitions or instructor travel.

Salsa Dance Classes

Our group Salsa dance classes are a great way to learn some moves and meet others who are interested in salsa dancing! Typically, one instructor teaches a group of students and starts out with a solo dancing warmup (aka shines), then progresses to partnering step patterns. No partner? No worries! We rotate partners in class so that everyone gets a chance to partner with each other. You will learn to lead and follow with different people which is essential for Salsa dancing and social dance in general. You are welcome to join our group Salsa dance classes solo, with a friend, or with a partner!

Private Salsa Dance Lessons

In private dance lessons, you get one-on-one time with our expert salsa instructor to focus specifically on your dance needs and help elevate your salsa dancing to the next level! With this one-on-one format, students often progress much quicker because they receive personalized instruction targeted exclusively towards them. Private salsa dance lessons take place in our shared ballroom and can be taken by one person or a couple. Individual students, dance partner couples and romantic couples can all benefit from private dance lessons. Sometimes couples even treat it as a date night!

Salsa Latin Nightclub Social Dance in Jersey City

Latin Nightclub Dances That Go With Salsa

At Salsa clubs, you will often find that DJs play a mix of Latin Nightclub songs including Bachata and Merengue. This trio of music styles is the “Salsa Dancing Trinity” and most Salsa dancers also know how to dance Merengue and Bachata as well. There is also a lot of crossover in terms of handholds, styling, hip movement, and body action!
